About the diagnostic specialist and the anesthesiologist
|
|
The
Diagnostics
Specialist as well as
the
anesthesiologist are nearly
as important as the plastic surgeon himself. All of them are
physicians who have completed a specialization course of
many years, each one in his own area. The diagnostics
specialist is trained for the professional production
and evaluation of diagnostic data records regarding the
planned surgery. The diagnostic specialist focuses
exclusively on diagnostics. (The plastic surgeon
similarly carries out only plastic surgery and the
anesthesiologist only gives anesthesia.) Diagnostic
specialists generally lead their own hospital-internal
or external -diagnostics department. It is the task of
the diagnostic specialist to discuss all relevant data
with the surgeon and the anesthesiologistnearly
as important as the plastic surgeon
himself. All of them are physicians who have completed a

the diagnostic specialist to discuss all relevant data
with the surgeon and the anesthesiologist concerning
each patient’s surgery. The data are to be evaluated
and examined in order to assure a problem-free surgery,
and the surgery can only be performed with the agreement
of the diagnostics specialist. The ranges of the
preliminary investigations are different. Easier
surgical procedures such as a blepharoplasty require (if
local anesthesia is used) a less extensive preliminary
investigation than treatments being performed under general
anesthesia. As far as possible our specialists use a
light form of general anesthesia (safe general anesthesia).
Surgery cannot be performed unless the three specialists all
agree that it is safe for the patient. |

Anamnestic
questionnaire

Patients
with chronic health complaints, those who use
prescription medication, drugs, tobacco, or alcohol,
and those with a history of previous complications
from anesthesia should
inform
us in advance.
For this purpose we provide the professional
anamnestic questionnaire to be filled out and to be
checked by our doctors. If questions should arise,
our doctors may request the diagnostics to be
done in a diagnostic center near at home before traveling.
The results can be sent by fax to our clinic, so
that any doubt regarding the preliminary data can be
eliminated before the journey.

Anamnestic
questionnaire (res.)

If the patient is healthy and decides to have the
diagnostics done within the hospital, then this
service is included in the medical costs.
In the case of undesirable test results, however, the
operation will not be carried out. In such case our
doctors will give advice to correct the medical
problem under the supervision of the patient's local
doctor. If, after a few month, the test results prove
satisfactory, a date for the operation can be set.
