Precaution
Before each plastic surgery it is important to
consider the following facts: The consumption of nicotine and alcohol
should be stopped 30 days before the term for operation, in order to
make sure a problem-free healing and convalescence
period. Two weeks before the surgery it is important to stop with the eventually consumption of coagulative (blood-clotting restraining) pain- or sleeping drug. Don't eat
and drink during the 6 hours before the operation under general

Preparing measures, diagnostic
As a part of the preoperative investigation before any
plastic surgery under general anesthesia the necessary good health of the

operation, the diagnostic documentation may not be older than 30 days. A

Postoperative care
Convalescence, postoperative medication and visits depend on
the type of procedure. A first change of the bandages takes place in the
morning of the first postoperative day. Drains are removed between the
first and third day after operation. The bandages are removed between the
3.th and 5.th day after operation. Generally on the first
after-operational day and eventually also on the third after-operational
day the bandages are again replaced with fresh ones. Stitches are removed
after 6-14 days depending on the type of operation. (After blepharoplasty
the stitches are removed after 5-7 days, after the Face Lift not earlier
than after 12 days. (General
information: A too early removal of the stitches may eventually go at the
expense of the final outcome due to more visible scars). Our doctors
suggest to plan with us a postoperative accommodation of 2-14 days in our
near pension, in order to be under monitoring with repeated checks and
removal of stitches with final check before leaving for home. This
represents the ideal case for every plastic surgery convalescence. At the
moment of the removal of the stitches the patient can be instructed about
special fine massages, which help optimize the wound healing process.
After 5-14 days -depending on the surgery- it is possible to start with
the usual activities. Full physical load and sporty activity are possible
after 1-2 month, depending on the surgery and the course of the healing
process and the convalescence. Alcohol, nicotine, and anti-pain drugs
should also be avoided during the first days after the surgery in order to
avoid any negative affect on the healing process. An optimal result of the
operation and reciprocal satisfaction lies in the vital interest of both

Postoperative visits
